Xiamen University (XMU), founded in 1921 by renowned patriotic overseas Chinese leader Mr. Tan Kah Kee, holds the distinction of being the first Chinese university established by an overseas Chinese individual. 一、奖学金简介

“中国政府奖学金-高校自主招生项目”旨在支持中国高水平大学建设，由高校直接遴选和推荐的优秀学生来华学习。厦门大学是该奖学金项目的招生院校之一。

I. Introduction

The Chinese Government Scholarship- University Program is aimed at promoting Chinese higher education brand on an international basis. Xiamen University is one of the prestigious universities designated to directly recruit international students to study in degree programs under this scholarship scheme.

三、申请人资格

1.符合所申请项目的招生简章上规定的所有条件；

2.申请人的学历和年龄要求（截止入学年度的9月1日前）：

（1）申请攻读学士学位者，应当具有高中毕业同等学力，学习成绩优秀，年龄一般不超过25周岁；

（2）申请攻读硕士学位者，应当具有学士学位或同等学力，学习成绩优秀，年龄一般不超过35周岁；

3.中国政府奖学金生不得同时享受中国各级政府和录取院校设立的其他奖学金 (不含各类一次性奖励金)的资助，一经发现，其中国政府奖学金资格将予以取消，并须退还已领取的中国政府奖学金。对于刻意隐瞒资助情况的，除取消资格外，三年内不允许申请中国政府奖学金。

III. Eligibility

1. Applicants must meet the requirements of the repective programs they are applying for.

2. Educational background and age limits (as of September of the academic year):

(1) Bachelor's Programs: be an academically excellent holder of high school diploma or its equivalent under the age of 25;

(2) Master's Programs: be an academically excellent holder of a Bachelor's degree or its equivalent under the age of 35;

3. Chinese Government Scholarship awardees are not allowed to accept any other scholarships (except one-time bonuses) sponsored by Chinese governments of different levels, as well as the admission colleges and universities at the same time. Otherwise, the Chinese Government Scholarship's qualification will be cancelled and students must refund the received scholarship funding. For those who deliberately conceal their funding, the scholarship qualification will be cancelled and students are not allowed to apply for Chinese Government Scholarship within three years.

五、奖学金期限

1. 本科生：学制4或5学年，奖学金期限4或5学年；

2. 硕士生：学制2或3学年，奖学金期限2或3学年。

注：

（1）如申请时汉语水平未达到我校中文授课项目的录取标准，且有意在专业学习前补习汉语（即“汉补”），申请奖学金时需满足以下要求：汉补申请者需已达到HSK4级180分或以上；为期1年的汉补结束后，通过考核者方可入专业学习。

（2）奖学金获得者需按照奖学金相关管理规定参加年度评审，评审通过的可继续申请或享受下一学年的奖学金，评审未通过的，将被中止或取消奖学金资格，具体年度评审规定和办法以当年度发布的最新通知为准。

V.Duration of Scholarships

1. Bachelor's Programs: 4 or 5 years

2. Master's programs: 2 or 3 years;

Note:

(1) For those who have not met the entry requirements of Chinese proficiency level and wish to take remedial Chinese courses before the major study in Chinese, they should also present the HSK certificate when applying. Applicants need to have a Chinese proficiency certificate of HSK band 4 with a score of 180 or above. Only by passing the required HSK test within the first year and meeting the entry requirements of the relevant degree programs could they then start the major study.

(2) Scholarship recipients shall participate in the annual review in accordance with the relevant management regulations of the scholarships. Those who pass the review can continue to apply for or enjoy the scholarships in the next academic year. Those who fail the review will be suspended or disqualified from the scholarships. The specific regulations and methods of the annual review shall be subject to the latest notice issued in the current year.

六、奖学金内容

（一）资助内容

包括学费、住宿费、生活费和综合医疗保险费。

（二）资助标准

1.免学费；

2.提供免费宿舍或发放住宿补贴；

3.生活费：

本科生：2,500元人民币/月

硕士研究生和普通进修生：3,000元人民币/月

4.综合医疗保险费：

800元人民币/人/年

VI.Scholarships Coverage

1. Tuition fees;

2. Free university dormitory or accommodation subsidy;

3. Stipend:

 Undergraduates: CNY 2,500 per month;

 Master's students: CNY 3,000 per month;

4. Comprehensive medical insurance: CNY 800 per person per year

七、申请程序

“中国政府奖学金-高校自主招生项目”奖学金申请者必须在申请我校本科、硕士、博士相关专业并被我校录取后，且所录取专业在当年国家留学基金委批准的我校自主招生奖学金项目的招生专业目录范围内，才具备参与奖学金评选的资格。

1.符合条件的申请者需登录国家留学基金委“来华留学管理信息系统”（http://studyinchina.csc.edu.cn；留学项目种类：Type B；厦门大学受理机构编号：10384）提交申请，并打印报名系统自动生成的《中国政府奖学金申请表》。

2.登录“厦门大学境外学生申请系统”（http://application.xmu.edu.cn）完成网上报名并上传《中国政府奖学金申请表》扫描件（须附申请者本人签名），无需邮寄纸质申请材料。具体申请程序和要求，详见文末各类国际学生招生简章。

3.中国政府奖学金项目申请者，须取得学院盖章的接收意向函，并上传至“来华留学管理信息系统”和“厦门大学境外学生申请系统”。

VII.Application Procedures

Application for the Scholarships will be considered only after the applicant has been admitted to the XMU academic programs approved by China Scholarship Council.

1. Applicants shall complete online application at https://studyinchina.csc.edu.cn (Program Category: Type B; Agency No. of XMU: 10384) and print out the Application Form for Chinese Government Scholarships. The Scholarships Application Form should be completed in Chinese or English and signed by the applicant.

2. Applicants shall complete another online application at http://application.xmu.edu.cn and upload the scan copy of Application Form for Chinese Government Scholarships. There is no need to mail paper application materials. For detailed requirements and procedures of application, please refer to the prospectuses below in Part XI.

3. Chinese Government Scholarship applicants for postgraduate programs should acquire the pre-acceptance letter signed by the supervisor and stamped by the college and upload it to the XMU application system for international students (http://application.xmu.edu.cn) and Chinese Government Scholarship Information System (https://studyinchina.csc.edu.cn).

八、遴选程序及结果公布

我校将组织专家综合考虑申请者的专业背景、学业成绩、语言能力、学术能力、科研成果和导师意见，结合国家留学基金委批准我校开展该奖学金项目招生的专业目录，从符合条件的申请者中择优选拔奖学金候选人，并由国家留学基金委对名单进行最终审核。奖学金结果预计将于8月确定并在我校国际学生招生网上公布。

VIII.Selection and Notification

A comprehensive review will be conducted on applicant's academic record, language proficiency, overall merits, research achievements and their prospective supervisor's comments. The shortlisted candidates will be submitted to China Scholarship Council for final approval.

The final results will be published at https://admissions.xmu.edu.cn in August.
